Main Purpose of the Role: This role will service, repair and test air hoists to approved company and quality procedures for hire and company owned equipment.

Main Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance, service, fault-finding, repair & testing of Pneumatic hoists; multi-disciplined with wide range of manufacturers / models such as Red Rooster, JDN, Tiger or Ingersoll Rand.
  • Ability to read and understand customer / manufacturers technical drawings / charts.
  • Preparing quotes for client owned equipment, detailing parts required & giving time estimations.
  • Produce a clear and concise report of components repaired / replaced and are signed off.
  • Liaise with Operations Supervisor regarding any issues with meeting customer needs and delivery schedules along with ensuring department is active in being efficient including resource management.
  • Ensure that all orders are conducted with professionalism and finished to the highest standard within timescales.
  • Assist workshop team where necessary in completing any other reasonable requests.
  • Ensuring that all areas housekeeping is maintained to a safe, high standard.
  • Responsible for ensuring tasks are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with applicable company procedures
  • Ensure that allocated equipment, tools etc are used in a safe and correct manner and not subject to misuse or abuse.
  • Follows all Risk Assessments/COSHH Assessments as per approved company QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Act as an ambassador for safety demonstrating safe behaviours.
  • Live our Centurion values and apply them in day-to-day activities.
  • The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven technical experience with Air Hoists and other lifting equipment
  • Extensive Mechanical Lifting workshop experience preferrable
  • Knowledge of the workings of air hoists and testing requirements
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 Mechanical discipline and/or a recognised mechanical based apprenticeship preferable
  • LEEA Entry level preferable
  • Full UK driving licence preferable
  • Air Hoist Manufacturer training preferable
  • Problem solving skills and logical mindset
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and charts.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organisational skills, ability to work effectively under pressure to a schedule and achieve deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a workshop environment.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Methodical in the processing of work activities / actions
  • Good working attitude, reliable and punctual
  • Self-starter who can work independently as well as within a team, and under own initiative without supervision
  • Proactive, flexible and adaptable approach to work
