Main Purpose of the Role: To assist the Finance Manager, as part of a small team, in the day to day management of ledgers, payments and cash flow reporting. The role includes month end and statutory reporting responsibilities and requires the role holder to appreciate and manage internal controls in their areas.

This role involves an ability to work to tight deadlines and requires a degree of flexibility in terms of working hours and workload to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Main Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with management accounts preparation, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with reporting to Group Finance including management accounts packs, capex tracker and debtor summaries
  • Maintain and update Fixed Asset register – additions, disposals, depreciation calculation
  • Assist with accounts payable process including invoicing, statement reconciliations, payments and cash application
  • Assist with accounts receivable process including invoicing, credit control and cash application
  • Input weekly timesheet information to job reports and provide summary report for monthly payroll
  • Assist as required with bank payments, bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.
  • The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry
  • Minimum accounting qualification to HNC in Accounts or equivalent experience
  • Professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS preferred although not essential)
  • Full UK driving licence preferable
  • Ability to deal with change and meet monthly reporting deadlines.
  • IT literate with good knowledge of accounting and accounts systems (Navision experience preferable, but not essential)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional and proactive working style to deliver excellent service
  • Effective organisation and time management skills, particularly when dealing with conflicting priorities.
  • Proactive, flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Self starter who can work independently and under own initiative
  • Ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships across internal/external stakeholders
