Main Purpose of the Role: Provide QHSE support and BMS administrative tasks

Main Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company HSEQ policy and procedures, safe working practices and the company Business Management System (BMS).
  • Support the achievement of agreed company and departmental HSEQ KPI’s and objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations in all areas related to health, safety, environment, and welfare at work.
  • Support HSEQ certification audits and closure of any subsequent actions.
  • Support the company in the continual improvement of an effective IMS, complying with the requirements of ISO and other applicable standards.
  • Support and develop a proactive HSEQ culture throughout the organisation.
  • Provide HSEQ advice, guidance, and training to colleagues, as necessary.
  • Conduct internal and supplier HSEQ audits in accordance with approved schedule, following up any necessary corrective or preventative actions within the BMS.
  • Assist with customer audits.
  • Support the HSEQ team in the development and implementation of safety training programs, safety initiatives and safety campaigns.
  • Support the company with incidents and NCR reporting and investigation in conjunction with relevant managers and personnel.
  • Partner with the HR team to ensure compliance related to onboarding of employees, mandatory safety training and occupational health processes.
  • Work with the operations and HR team to drive compliance with Training and Competence frameworks.
  • Coordinate HSEQ and waste management data used to demonstrate our commitment to ESG.
  • Assist in the preparation, creation, and review of risk assessments for our operations including but not limited to PUWER, LOLER, hazardous and materials.
  • Assist with preparation of HSEQ pre-qualifications, bid information and reports.
  • Coordinate routine drills and tests (such as fire drills).
  • Conduct DSE, CoSHH, HAVS and manual handling assessments.
  • Coordinate and regularly engage with site first-aiders and fire wardens, ensuring roles and responsibilities are understood and executed.
  • Review Maintenance schedule and arranging inspections and maintenance for site (workshop equipment, emergency equipment) where required.
  • Creating and control of forms, procedures, operating instructions, guides and ensuring they’re adhered to.
  • Conduct HSEQ inspections / site inspections.
  • Assist with creating and actioning Business Objectives.
  • Adhering to annual HSSEQ Plan developed by HSSEQ Management.
  • Review and update legal registers, environmental impacts registers, business risk registers.
  • Assist with Quarterly HSSEQ Business Meetings and Annual Management Reviews
  • Lead Monthly HSEQ Engagement Sessions.
  • Any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.
  • Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organised.
  • Adhere to all Company policies and processes.


To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • IOSH Managing safely
  • Nebosh General Certificate -desirable or work towards within 6 months.
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Internal Auditor
  • Previous experience in a similar relevant role.
  • Experience in HSSEQ Management Systems e.g., SharePoint and Sypol (COSHH Assessments)
  • Good knowledge of HSE Legislation.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standard
  • Preferable experience of working in an environment in relation to Sales and Hire of Equipment, Inspection and Rope Access Activities
  • Good communicator to all levels
  • Enthusiastic, committed and a fast learner with previous experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable self-starter who can work independently as well as within a team, and under own initiative
